CM launches Mukhya Mantri 1 Bigha Scheme for strengthening rural economy
- The scheme envisages strengthening of rural economy by linking Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) under which a woman or her family who owns a land up to one bigha (or 0.4 hectare) can raise a backyard kitchen garden by growing vegetables and fruits.
- Chief Minister said that this scheme would involve about 1.50 lakh womenfolk through 5,000 self-help groups. He said under the scheme each beneficiary woman will be entitled to get employment under MGNREGS, besides training to upscale her skill, grants meant to level the hill land, channelise water, set up a vermi compost pit and to purchase saplings and seeds.
Migrants to be provided rice and Kala Chana dal under Atmanirbhar Bharat scheme
- Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department informed here today that the migrants stranded in the lockdown would be provided five kilograms of rice and Kala Chana dal per person during the months of May and June, 2020 under Atmanirbhar Bharat scheme of the government of India, who have no ration card under National Food Security Act or state schemes.
- He said that they will have to submit the proforma to the shopkeeper signed by the representatives of Panhayati Raj Institutions, Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillor or gazetted officer. The proforma can be obtained from the office of district Controller or Inspector Food Supplies or from the fair price shops.
