1. INDIA’S FIRST CONSTITUTION MUSEUM MARKS 75 YEARS OF THE INDIAN CONSTITUTION –

• India’s first Constitution Museum, named “The Constitution Academy and The Rights & Freedoms Museum,” is set to be inaugurated by OP Jindal Global University on November 26, 2024. This initiative celebrates the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution.
• The museum will provide an in-depth exploration of the Indian Constitution, highlighting its various sections and their significance. Visitors can engage with profiles of Constituent Assembly members, examine the debates and discussions that shaped the Constitution, and explore the document’s evolution through textual, audio-visual, and experiential formats.

2. RBI GOVERNOR SHAKTIKANTA DAS RANKED TOP CENTRAL BANKER FOR 2ND YEAR-

• Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das has been recognized as the top central banker globally for the second straight year by the US-based Global Finance magazine. He was awarded an ‘A+’ grade in the prestigious Global Finance Central Banker Report Cards 2024.
• The rankings are determined based on a grading scale from A to F, assessing performance in key areas such as inflation control, economic growth goals, currency stability, and interest rate management. An ‘A’ represents outstanding performance, while an ‘F’ denotes complete failure.
• Alongside Shaktikanta Das, Denmark’s Christian Kettel Thomsen and Switzerland’s Thomas Jordan were also awarded the ‘A+’ grade. The report highlighted the successful efforts of central bankers in combating inflation through strategies like higher interest rates, which have led to significant reductions in inflation globally.

3. STUDY PREDICTS 49% INCREASE IN GLOBAL FLOODING BY 2100 –

• By the year 2100, mainly due to the continued release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. If these emissions stay high, flooding events could increase by 49% compared to 2020 levels, particularly affecting vulnerable areas like tropical coastlines and dry regions.
• Flood Risk by 2050: By 2050, the risk of flooding could be 7% higher if emissions are low and 15% higher if emissions are high.
• Regional Differences: The risk of flooding won’t be the same everywhere. Some regions might see a big increase in floods, while others could see fewer.

4. DELHI AIRPORT ACHIEVE ‘NET ZERO CARBON EMISSION AIRPORT’ STATUS –

• Delhi Airport made history by becoming the first airport in India to achieve ‘Net Zero Carbon Emission Airport’ status under the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) programme by Airport Council International (ACI).
• This significant milestone was proudly announced by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL).
• Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) earned Level 5 certification, which reflects its strong commitment to environmental sustainability and its success in significantly reducing carbon emissions. Remarkably, this goal was achieved six years ahead of the 2030 target.

5. AMUL – WORLD’S STRONGEST FOOD BRAND IN 2024 –

• Amul was honored as the world’s strongest food brand by Brand Finance, a leading brand valuation firm. Amul achieved this recognition with a high Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 91 and a brand valuation of $3.3 billion. This is a significant achievement, reflecting an 11% increase in brand value compared to the previous year, 2023.
• Amul is a major player in India’s dairy market, holding large shares in several key areas. It controls 75% of the milk market, 85% of the butter market, and 66% of the cheese market in India.
• This strong presence in the dairy industry is a big reason behind its high BSI score and AAA+ rating. The brand is also well-known, widely considered, and often recommended by consumers, further contributing to its success.
