  1. BANGLADESH TRIUMPHS IN U-19 ASIA CUP FINAL, BEATS INDIA BY 59 RUNS –
  • Bangladesh U-19 successfully defended their Asia Cup title with an impressive 59-run victory over India in the final. Despite a solid start by India’s bowlers, Bangladesh set a challenging target of 199 runs, and India faltered in their chase, getting bowled out for 139 in 35.2 overs.
  • Key performances from Mohammad Shihab James, Rizan Hossan, and Azizul Hakim helped Bangladesh post a competitive total, while Hakim, Iqbal Hossain Emon, and Rizan Hossan bagged three wickets each to dismantle India’s batting line-up.

 

  1. INDIA PLANS ANTI-DRONE UNIT FOR BORDER SECURITY –
  • Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah announced that India will establish a comprehensive anti-drone unit to protect the nation against drone-related threats. Speaking at the 60th Raising Day Parade of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, Shah highlighted the growing drone challenge, particularly along the borders.
  • The government, in collaboration with various security forces and research departments, has developed a laser-equipped anti-drone gun mount system that has significantly improved drone interception rates.
  • He also detailed the Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System (CIBMS) for border monitoring and stressed the welfare initiatives undertaken for security personnel.

 

  1. INDIA’S FOREX RESERVES SHOW SIGNIFICANT INCREASE –
  • India’s foreign exchange reserves have experienced a notable rise. on November 09, the reserves reached 658.09 billion dollars, an increase of 1.51 billion dollars. This marks the first rise in nine weeks after the reserves had previously fallen to a five-month low.
  • The increase in reserves is primarily attributed to foreign currency assets. These assets rose by 2.06 billion dollars, bringing the total to 568.85 billion dollars. Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) also saw a rise. They increased by 22 million dollars, reaching 18.01 billion dollars.
  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) plays an important role in managing these reserves. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das emphasized the careful management of foreign exchange reserves. This management aims to minimize market fluctuations and maintain economic confidence.

 

  1. CABINET APPROVES OF 85 NEW KENDRIYA VIDYALAYAS ACROSS INDIA –
  • The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has recently approved the establishment of 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) in India, which is led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and aims to enhance educational facilities for Central Government and Defence employees. Additionally, one existing KV in Shivamogga, Karnataka, will expand to accommodate more students.
  • The total investment for these new KVs and the expansion is projected at Rs. 5,872 crore. This amount includes Rs. 2,862 crore for construction and Rs. 3,009 crore for operational costs. The implementation will take place over the next eight years.
